Remove asbestos from homes in a safe manner

Asbestos term applies to a particular mineral fiber that has historically been used in building and construction industry for insulation and fire-proof nature and their great strength. In the last few years have proven that long-term exposure to asbestos can cause diseases like mesothelioma, asbestos and lung cancer.

Given this, anyone who intends to remove asbestos from homes in a safe manner should be used very carefully.

When investigating the removal of asbestos you have to understand the difference between the terms “loose” and “non-friable”. You’ll find the term “non-friable” is used to describe the fiber is held firm and not be broken unless the air. “Friable” means asbestos fiber in a bad condition and can be air by destroying them with his bare hands.

Asbestos dust is what causes the disease discussed earlier in this article. Thus, you should be extra careful when working to remove asbestos from your home. Here are some tips to remove asbestos dust while you’re doing remodeling projects:

- It’s better to use hand tools to minimize the release of dust. Electrical equipment is more likely to damage the surface of asbestos.

- If you need to sand, making the wet sand. Dry sanding release asbestos fibers into the air.

- Reduce the asbestos material before working with it to minimize the risk of dust released. Do not use high pressure jets.

- Add some washing up liquid into the water you use will help to absorb particles of asbestos.

- Do not use harsh blasting systems or other high pressure methods to clean asbestos roofing, siding or cladding. Always use a low pressure system.

- Clean the area you have worked on very carefully. Dispose of any waste carefully and in accordance with the laws of your local.

This is not recommended that you remove the asbestos yourself. Instead, you have to hire trained asbestos removal contractors who have appropriate education to safely remove asbestos and the appropriate equipment.
